Nomini Baptist Church was established on 29 April with 17 members. By it was reputedly the largest Baptist church in Virginia with members. The original meetinghouse, built nearby in on land donated by a charter member, Captain Joseph Pierce, was replaced in by the present brick church. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6 at Nomini Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend William L. Burruss officiated.
